After years of trying to find its identity, the DC Universe seems to have found its footing. Here’s what’s working.
The Films
Superman: Legacy
The film that launched the new DCU exceeded all expectations. The casting was perfect, the story was heartfelt, and the action was spectacular. This is the Superman for a new generation.
The Brave and the Bold
The Batman family gets their due in this ensemble film. The dynamic between the various Robins is the highlight, and the villain is genuinely terrifying.
The Shows
Peacemaker Season 3
James Gunn’s irreverent series continues to be one of the best things on TV. The humor is sharper, the action is bigger, and the heart is real.
Waller
Viola Davis’ Amanda Waller gets her own series, and it’s a political thriller as much as a superhero show. The writing is top-notch.
What Changed
The key difference is creative consistency. With unified leadership and a clear vision, the DCU feels cohesive for the first time. Individual creators are given freedom within a framework.
The Road Ahead
The announced slate through 2028 is ambitious. If the quality holds, DC could give Marvel a real run for its money.
